@OhmIsFutile

6:20 "At times, it's a silly show."
I think this qualifies for Pey's understatement of 2024...

@BlancoPancho

After reading Dan da Dan you find that the combat parts are the flair that keep most interesting in between nuggets of great emotional stories. Not all are as hard as this one. But I found myself crying in multiple of them. I’m happy the anime is doing so good, cause the manga so far has gripped me!

@Ryodraco

At the risk of paraphrasing some of what you said, one thing that to me makes episode 7 feel like a very organic/natural direction for a Dandadan episode to take rather than too jarring a departure in tone; is that the initial episodes of the series firmly established that humans don't simply become yokai by chance or minor events, it takes something horrific, tragic, etc. So it makes sense that if we delve into such a yokai's origins, its going to have some heavy themes.

@johnsonjohnson9328

While it’s coincidental that episode 7 in many series are great, it’s a nice way to talk about what “bottle episodes” are.

@otakunerd9883

What a interesting way to pose it it’s not exactly the 7th episode but the approximate time for the writer to show what they got and hook the audience

@atomskthepirateking2776

Cyberpunk episode 7 also marks the first time David takes over as leader of the crew. Great episode

@yyobananaboyy2514

I just realized how much I want Pey to talk about Madoka Magica

@john8ross

The 7th episode of many anime is also the start of the second book of manga. The second books first chapter is often a reintroduction to the characters.
(Not all, but enough that it’s noticeable.)

@owencmyk

I haven't finished Arcane yet so I'm saving this in my Watch Later but I just wanna say how crazy it is that you uploaded this the same day that a friend of mine was telling me about how good Dandadan episode 7 is

@AnnohaSF

Episode 7 is also the first time Bojack Horseman really shows its hand. “Say Anything”. The first episode that ends on something distinctly emotionally sombre. The first one that didn’t just feel like “another adult animated comedy”.

@radifire

This is insane. I literally wrote this in my notepad last Monday under video ideas:

“The rule of 7 or lucky number 7
- Arcane and dandadan’s eps 7 were great. …”

@JhuanVSales

This episofe in dandadan is absolutely beautiful and insanely emotional i almost cry just looking at the little scenes you put in the video

@abadyr_

2:50 "This bittersweet but very wholesome story"
Jace: 😬

@MirecU

The interesting part about Dan da Dan is that although the anime is weird, crazy and silly, everything in it makes sense and is thought out...

@roopesaukkonen

You keep hitting home runs with your videos and topics you cover.

@dontaskwhyman

I never thought about the Ep. 7 change of pace. I had to relook at one of the shows I watched in the past (Oshi No Ko) and definitely the Torrance House scandal (not describing it cuz spoilers) happened in Ep. 6 and Ep. 7. I think it might be that 6 episode rule. If a new TV show or in our case anime made it past the minimum episode count for an initial season then the writers can start to flex their creativity. Using what characters they have with the limited screen time they are allowed from the production.

@ItzTyluh

DANDADAN is also a romance/ slice of life the manga blends all this very well

@sebastianordonez2252

Episode 7 of jjk is Gojo vs Jogo. Yeah, that checks out

@123fakestreeeet

Another great bottle episode example is episode 10 of season 4 of Doctor Who, midnight. A low budget thriller that is quite literally a few actors in a box.

@Shahkz

love the videos pey, keep it up.
