they discovered minerals that can be used for EV battery manufacturing. thank me later
When i was living in Guam it was a thing to boat out to the trench and swim. I swear the water felt colder there and it was blackish even in bright blue sky weather. There is also a place by japan that you can scuba dive to this huge underwater ledge where it drops straight down thousands of meters/ feet. It is like staring into the abyss, you can see the changes in the water color from bright blue to an absolute black , it was almost overwhelming, i had nightmares after.
US does deep sea exploration: "Wow educating mankind." China does deep sea exploration: "China is planning to mine the minerals" Urgh
18:30 onwards showing MIT (USA), The Metals Company (Canadian) Geomar (German) then starts talking about China in a sinister voice. The fact is, all these countries are looking at exploiting the seabed for minerals so there's no point dumping on China.
If US did this, you would never hear about it from media.
animals deep in the oceon do not fight the pressure; they were born there - cells are at rqual pressure with their atmosphere just like ours are adapted to ours
Did anybody else feel sorry for the blobfish that was on the surface
We're efing around dreaming about Mars like children when the research and work that matters is here on earth.
We really need to protect the earth.
They always say the next big war will be in space. They never realized it means the space beneath us, not above us.
Politics and science don't mix.
I am no environmentalist but vacuuming up the nodules and throwing all that silt back into the ocean is a very bad idea. Do these nodules serve an ecological purpose that we don't know about? And even if they don't, when you start vacuuming up the seafloor you are inevitably killing all the life that may be there. And, after the nodules are separated, what depth do they discharge the leftover silt at? If they're not bringing it all the way back to the Sea floor, how long will it take for the debris to make it to the Sea floor? This could have serious consequences. So I have a lot of questions.

At time 27:37, the author stated that the international space station is an example of competition gave way to collaboration. This is totally incorrect. US barred China from joining the international space station to perform research there. Reason is pretty obvious.
America has a 4 year plan. China has a 4000 year plan...
Explained nicely and I like the idea of using buildings for depth
China wanted to join international space station but what happened πππ. Rejected π’π’π’ But currently, China got their own station ππ
Poor Blobfish π’
While China is exploring the deep sea and discovering new wonders this planet has, the USA is dealing with internal drama. π π€£π
