I appreciate you for trying to make these controversial subjects open to discussion 😠I really can't stand the toxicity of most social media that tries to completely shut down dialogue unless it's within their moral binary. These are topics that deserve to be seen within a grey spectrum instead of just black or white
Theres such a huge difference between anti vax and vax hesitant. I dont think you can be mad at people for being weary of such a new shot, but thats different than people who believe it puts a microchip in you
this is literally how you change the world. compassion is the basis of morality.
Two years ago everyone asked, are you vaccinated? It was considered to have 95% efficacy after two shots by science for probably your whole life. Now, no one is interested anymore to ask. Back then I ate healthy, slept my 8 hours, had my social contacts, and did my sports - no one was interested. It was considered to be a healthy lifestyle to avoid cardiovascular diseases, dementia, psychological diseases and many more. Now, I still eat healthy, sleep my 8 hours, have my social contacts and do my sports- It is still considered healthy. Still, no one talks about, because there's no market for it.
I suggested this on Reddit a few weeks ago and was downvoted to oblivion, given abuse, told I should be murdered and had the mods change my flair to something like, "Would rather see people suffocate than get vaccinated." I've been vaccinated since April.
i love your educated response to controversies. i can relate to you so much because i hold a lot of the same opinions. i always try to see things from other's point of view, no matter how prejudiced that view is. thank you for your calm, mature approach to difficult topics 🤎
Dystopian 2022 update: protections have been removed while case rates, deaths and disability from long COVID continue to rise. Estimates are that 2-4 million Americans cannot work due to long term symptoms. (Depending on your estimated local case prevalence) I strongly believe continuing to wear a mask indoors/crowded outdoor settings is the moral choice, despite our laws not requiring us to. If you're still masking, know that you're not alone <3 @oliSUNvia This is an amazing video, very humanising, I feel we need empathy now more than ever.
I do feel like bashing or forcing people to take the vaccine not the way to go. I don't agree with a lot of things on the anti and pro vaxxer side, but I do agree and believe in bodily autonomy and that it should be a choice since you are putting something probably foreign into your body. Anti maskers on the other hand, unless you have an underlying medical condition that prevents you from wearing a mask effectively, your just careless and irresponsible imo.
I believe it is ok to be skeptical and ask good faith questions, that isn't the same as being anti-vax. In the same way someone feels worried or weird about a medical procedure and asks their doctor for clarification before going through with it, and in turn the doctor is patient is respectful, that should be the model we use for discussing these topics instead of going to extremes and name calling. Going to extremes and shaming will largely lead to the backfire effect, and less people will feel trusting to receive a life threatening vaccine for what is now a preventable disease.
America is a unique country. It was built upon the very sole foundation of personal freedom. But people associate freedom with inherent positivity when it is definitely not the case. But we need to acknowledge that freedom is what is allowing us to have these conversations, the way philosophers then discussed the most abhorrent ideas to find one of the many that would be useful to society. Not having freedom in a country is like being that tyrannical parent that expects their child to always do things right, not allowing them to make mistakes and to flourish from it. At the end of the day the right answers will always come forward, no matter how loud the wrongs are.. unless a great force is trying to conceal it.
I also need to add, there are many health 'experts' who claim that all of this is a hoax, are anti-vaccine/mask and many people fall into the trap of not knowing what or who to believe. If this pandemic is supposed to make us be responsible for it since governments aren't doing much help, I think we really do need to emphasize with each other and understand why there are so many mixed/opposing views instead of quickly rushing into debate and tyranny.
So many people are calling me anti-vax when in the past I haven't been able to get a vaccines without a severe reaction, even close to death on one occasion. Im definitely going to sit this one out.
i started watching your channel like two days ago and i honestly think it’s the best i’ve seen so far. I love how you share your mind and your thinking. Everything is put together so good i love it. Not only your voice but you are pretty and calming.
As a friend of mine said: "But that really was the gist of it: 'You're making me sound wrong = you're making me sound stupid = you're humiliating me on purpose = I need to defend myself' is all the same thought/response action to that entire cohort." I get the impression that some folks invest so much emotional energy into their heuristics that trying to sideload new data into them just bounces off of a fear-driven force field.
I love your channel. I discovered it on my birthday and it's been a treasure for me. Thank you for existing, I'm your number 1 fan
dang thanks for talking about this; its opened me up to new perspectives since i nvr rlly understood why ppl wouldnt want to take the vaccine— to me, it always seemed like it was an act of selfishness to not get vaccinated but now i see that it goes the other way around as well by forcing ppl to take it 😓😓
Big pharma shill is big pharma shill.
This video is so important for people on both ends of this spectrum. Thank you so much for making this.
I'm someone who couldn't get vaccinated for covid because of my parents who didn't trust it and threatened to kick me out if I did get vaccinated. And I'm in a pretty middle ground about it after it. I would have taken one if I could but I do think it is very fishy how we were expected to take four vaccines for the same thing in the span of a year, and how people who didn't for any reason were demonized to the point where you weren't even considered a person. I felt horrible all those months, on one side by my parents who treated everything as a hoax and on the other side being made feel like a worthless human being because of it, and feeling the need to pretty much isolate from everyone. All I'm saying is going to extremes about anything is definitely not the answer.
