Despite how ridiculous and completely oblivious Berdly is, I find it kind of nice that, believing Noelle has a crush on him, he tries to reject her in a friendly and open manner- friendly in his way, at least. He was just being honest and I think that's kind of sweet- even if he was pretty dumb to assume Noelle had a crush on him in the first place XD
