That CTRL+Backspace is mindblowing.
"looking at next words while typing previous one" this really helps me, thanks alot!
"40 wpm too slow" me after typing 20wpm - holyshit that was fast
this is not an exaggeration, the "look at the next word" and "each word is one stroke" tip literally took me from 100 wpm to 130 wpm in one attempt Thanks so much!
The "one word as one stroke" method is actually super useful! Went from an average of 110 to 130 wpm in an hour or so by applying that! Thanks a lot!
Bro I thought I typed fast but I can barely type beyond 70 WPM. This video really opened my eyes that there is so much to improve in my typing skills, thank you!
Why is no one saying the video is edited so well! Truly
165 wpm here: i think of it in terms of like video game combos. How fast can you pull off the "person" special move? You start to learn specific patterns in english and per word. I can type ERS by basically pressing all 3 keys at once, except with each one of my fingers tiny downward, or by simply "rolling" my fingers down onto the keyboard versus "pressing" each individual letter.. It helps to read ahead of where you are at and "plan out" how you are going to type the next word, if you can at a subconscious level.
I was a bit stuck in the 70-80 range so this videos gave me some cool tips to try, thanks!
bro, i got 8 WPM update: I trained a little bit and got to 24 WPM
Dude your points are concise and on point! It really helped me get from 50 to 60 WPM to 70WPM and above. Especially the point where you see the next word ahead of time. Thanks a ton.😘
I went from 70 to 90 by reading books more often. The increase in my natural reading speed allowed me to process the next words faster in my head enabling me to type them faster in a continuous string.
I was a touch typist at >50 wpm until I had an illness that affected fine motor skills. My previous typing speed is not speed of flight but it is important in my job. I really had to relearn everything from scratch. I want to come back a much better typist in terms of speed and accuracy. I was searching for tips to speed up my typing that's how I came across your video. Thank you for your tips!
The tip at 1:54 made a huge difference. I did it unconsciously before but now that I'm aware of it I can focus on the speed, i peaked 120 wpm and slowly increasing this number! hopefully i can reach my goal of 200 wpm some day! - TYSM
Thank you so much for ctrl plus backspace shortcut. It really helps me out!!
I started typing with all the fingers about Two months ago and I am currently at 48 wpm, I hope I can bring it up to 60 in the next two months with these tips. Thank you!!
The thinking of words as letters is something I actually use every day. Whenever I am gaming, there are common words that I come across every day in gaming language that I can literally just type words in an instant because they are almost like one big keystroke to me. Interesting to know that the same method I use is something else many use as well, great video.
Trying to look ahead while typing is a really helpful tipp. What I also find to be useful in the 50-100 wpm range is focusing on accuracy. I'm currently stuck at around 80 wpm mainly because I keep making mistakes while typing. Having to correct stuff can really slow you down. Without mistakes i can easily get in the high 90 to 100 wpm range. So, if you are struggling with accuracy I think it's important to try and slow down a bit. As far as I understand it bad accuracy comes from either stumbling other certain letter combinations you aren't used to yet (for that you can either practice ngrams or just keep typing), or it comes from bad muscle memory. In the case of bad muscle you basically need to fix it by making sure you write words accurately but you can't focus on accuracy if you are constantly trying to be as fast as possible.
I am a programmer who is learning to type just now. Converting from gamer style to proper one. So far i managed to learn to type 40 WPM in one week of daily practice. This video helps me a lot. I must admit i feel ashamed that i didn't know about Ctrl + backspace shortcut and i type on keyboard basically since I was a kid... Thank you for useful information, keep it up!
