the claim that Clanton didn't allow other races back then is not true. It's a rumor. Being from WS XIV 3rd N'bd in the '70s we had many non-Hispanics in 2nd, 3rd and 4th neighborhoods, Midgets, PeeWees, Dukes and Tiny Locos. I had homeboys and homegirls who were white, a few Black and Asian. Big Huero, Tiki, Thumper #1, Sash, Oso were all white, from WS C14 — 2nd and 3rd nb'd. In the same way that race was not a problem for West Side Clanton, Sash, who was white, was originally from Blythe Street VPC. He and Speedy (originally Puppet) were Blythe founders around 1974-76. Most C14 didn't care about race in those days, because we were all from LA which was all mixed race. It was about the neighborhood and your cliques. Later years, some of our homies went to college. Many own and manage businesses. I ran into a homeboy who became a bank VP in West LA. Another became a paralegal

Born and raised in L.A..moved to OC at 15 so I've seen the change amd rise in danger in L.A. in the last 10-15 years...I hesitate sometimes before I go back home(MLK and Avalone)😢but I'll always have love for L.A.🥰

I knew some Vets and some guys my age back in the 90's, the Vets were 3 brothers, the oldest Mr Wedo he was in his early 50's, the youngest Lonely Boy was 38, but the hardest one was Mr Cholo the middle brother who was 45, i was 13 when meet them, the oldest was the husband of my apts manager, and the Mr Cholo lived in my apts too, they were cool except Lonely Boy when he was on crack and drinking to much, the guys my age were this guy Sloe(buster), who who got these 2 white boy who were brothers that lived on the next block over and were wanna be gangstas, when i meet them they said they were from Reseda and were from a Crip gang called LVCG(little valley crip gang), but i never heard of it, they either were lying or they were set hoppers cause after some back and forth beef between them and my homie and me they showed up on our street with Sloe, Lil Spider and Lil Smiley from C14, they had apparently had just got jumped in and decided since they were 5 deep to come jump us, my homie and i weren't busters, they were seen by a couple homies of ours that were from a rival hood, no sooner then when they started wolf ticketing the homies came jogging up, 4 vs 5, down by one we beat the brakes off of 4 of them, Sloe was supposed to be the hardest one but only took a couple punches before running off, the rest tried to scatter in different directions but all got dropped but I feel kinda bad for Lil Spider and the youngest of the 2 brothers cause the oldest and smiley ran one of the homies chased Smiley but the everyone left the youngest behind and we beat and stomped them out at the top of a stairwell I guess they thought like some apts it had a breezeway, but it didn't, me and my homie Flaquito and Blackie from NHLs f*cked them up bad
