Worst tip ever: "JuSt dOn'T Do iT" Let people learn however, for me being able to read Romaji in text and learning what that word means becomes a way for me to input how to say and listen to it. Me not being able to read "boardblanks and anthills" as one guy called it once does not mean anything.

Can you suggest a program/course ... I've heard Rosetta Stone isn't that great and I don't think Duolingo is comprehensive enough. There are enough teachers in my area 😢.... I really want to learn but don't know where to go or how ...

I don't recommend learning japanese with romaji. You better finish hiragana and katakana and learn some vocabulary while learning it so you can master the basics.
