The Anniversary feels just like a normal patch, just with more banners.
Summed up my feelings about the anniversary, except I felt Zani's story was pretty bland, but it's coming after, in my opinion, Wuwa's best story (main 2.2 story) and best character story (Cantarella's).
I'm f2p. Got Jiyan, Xiangli yao, Verdant summit. Hoping to get Verity's handle. How'd I hold onto so many pulls left? I only snatch male characters.
yeah I totally agree... tho tbf at the end of the day.. its still better than Genshins uhmm.. any anniversary xD.. the biggest W of the 2.,3 update was the removal of the respawn timers of those openworld bosses.. you can just spawnkill them and then rtecycle the bad ones so its just an infinite echo farm now.. pretty cool.
we literally got better rewards from random updates than from the anniversary lol I agree that Wuwa still has a bright future tho~
Anniversary feels like its meant for new players not 1 year players which is sad because without them Wuwa would not have succeeded. There isnt much to do, its a regular patch that doesnt feel like Anniversary, Zani companion story and QoLs dont count. Ciaccona companion story also wont be enoigh, I hope they give us something to do for Ciccona turn.

Hmm... I understand where you're coming from, "but". While the nightmarket Event is giving pulls for pulls, it's not as bad as it seems. Could it be better? Yeah, but it could be way worse, too. You "just" have to roll on ANY of the limited banners in either phase. So there are a total of 12 characters and 12 weapons you could go for, meaning you likely have at least one character and/or weapon you roll for anyways. For the derby: I don't know what you mean with having to wait to use the dice. I've been able to spend every dice I've gotten so far the moment I got it. That said, I'm in round 6/12 now and it took me on average 10 rolls to get through each round. But what I'm more curious about is why they even bothered to shorten patch 2.2 as the anni isn't until the second half of 2.3 anyways, lol. The anni rewards, at least to me, are celebrating the fact the game actually lived that long and didn't crash out before. So it is more of a giving back to players who made them come this far, and those who played for quite some time are likely already owning a good few characters and weapons, even as f2p. So while these banners can be quite predatory, from another perspective they're also an opportunity for long term players to get another chance to obtain an item they'd missed out on. Zani feels weird to play to me, ngl. But I'm always done for counter mechanics and, especially since I have Pheebs, the damage she dishes out even at Lv. 70 with all abilities at Lv.6/10 is just insane to me. Gonna need to catch up on those companion stories, though, but it looked good from the trailer. I also don't get the part where you said the Cubic N Cubie event was time-gated? I casually strolled through this in the past days and just finished the last 3 stages today without hitting a time-gated roadblock. So, I don't really see anything time-gated here. I DO have to say, that the final stage is a bit boring/annoying. It picks one out of five challenges and you have to beat the same challenge five times over within the time limit to get 100%. Could've been more engaging if they swapped it for each of the 5 stages at random. But maybe I feel a bit salty since I got the same challenge 5 times in a row and then got adifferent one which I beat basically with my eyes closed. In the end I'm a bit split on this anni. I'm happy WuWa has improved a lot and is one of my fav Gacha's atm, and I feel heard as a player. On the other hand I think they were a bit too careful with the inital rewards and course corrected in a weird way. If they keep up the good work, however, I think the future for this game looks promising. And maybe we get a tiny surprise when the actual anni come around. Man, I just wrote up an entire script here xD Cheers!
I'm a bit conflicted. On one hand, this patch didn't feel enough like an anniversary. Sure there were extra pulls/rewards given, but it didn't feel proportional to all the extra banners that players are looking at, or the sentiment that long-time players should be rewarded for their loyalty. On the other hand, even if you take a few steps back and think of this patch as filler with no main story progression, the quality is still quite good, continuing wuwa's recent trend of adding QoL updates and consistently improving the game. Overall, I don't think the anniversary itself is bad, but the optics are. People are screaming about disappointing rewards (blame leaks), the "player-friendly" banners (blame mistranslation), and how Zani needs Phoebe (SRover is acceptable). These are not well-reasoned complaints, but the damage to kuro's image is done. I'm happy if wuwa can just be a reliably enjoyable and reasonably generous game with no huge celebrations, but I agree that even besides the drama, there's some genuine disappointment here.
