@Smug__

Before I begin, I have to say and I know Im not the only person who thinks this. Your music being a reflection of your experiences and current - previous - future mindsets makes your music unbelievably relatable and totally encapsulates your attention to the topic at hand. lullyourselftobed5877's has already shared their overview on this album so I hope you don't mind me sharing my own.

Starting off with |Try again| The song itself is very catchy and an awesome guitar throughout. While this is the most laid back in term of existential matter. It still holds itself in being both relatable and insanely common. People get into pointless arguments all the time. Both second and first hand. The depiction in the MV is both pretty comical and I'd say accurate for most. The idea that this argument they're in is so much more dramatic because of both of them are so arrogant and prideful in the moment is both really funny and really common. Hell I've done it.

Never for me might possibly be the most relatable track here then again I could say that for a majority of this album. I know that feeling all to well of "the universe is against me" Turn that feeling into a song and what do you get? An INSANELY catchy melody and while the lyrics aren't very deep or complex, they don't need to be. The song conveys itself very clearly and I guarantee everyone has felt it.

|Fishbowl Philosophy| ๐Ÿ‘ The lyrics for this song are a par above. Speaking from the fishes perspective the lyrics "You're right the water's fine But please just stay outside You know you can observe me But please don't hurt me Floating in mercy" is fairly easy to draw connections to on first glance. The fish has it's own bowl of water that it's safe in. The water is the fishes mercy. Without the water the fish will die. Digging a little deeper and thinking about it. We are all fish in our own fish bowls. This song specifically I feel speaks of a "fish" that is safe and comfortable alone in it's bowl. It doesn't want to be "thrown out to sea" because it has no desire to reach out. It's perfectly contempt in it's bowl. Which is a very good summary of a lot of people, including some I know. Two halves do not always make a whole and some people do not respect boundaries which is what I believe the lyrics "No one reads, they tap the glass" is referring to. Overall Im getting the picture of a chronically anti-social "fish". Not wanting to live among them nor wanting to exist anywhere and the rejection of school accentuates that for me as I've both lived and felt the same way. Very good song, round of applause.

|Drag me down| I may be WAY off the mark with this one but this seems like a person who's recording a song for possibly a friend that is suicidal. The audio sounds like a phone or something was quickly propped up and Miku has just grabbed her acoustic and started singing, of course it isn't rehearsed so she messes up once or twice. She also doesn't sound very bright throughout and the sinister glitches and whys create a uneasy atmosphere. The I hope you like it at the very end helps me believe that interpretation as it feels very personalised. This could also be possibly someone who's partner is faltering and Miku is desperate and the way she copes is through music, expressing her emotions through song. Which considering you yourself use this coping strategy, makes this feel plausible. I'd like to hear your thoughts on the song but if you want to leave it up to self interpretation, I am more than fine with that.

|Switch my brain off| I personally am not diagnosed with any disorder relating to attention span however I know people who do. I myself at the very least can relate to being a total scatter brain. When I want to do something, I will get distracted at least 18million times in the process. It's unimaginably annoying when I catch myself. It's a really poor combination when you have someone who is ambitious or creatively adept but also has no attention span so I can sympathise and to an extent empathise with your frustrations. Switch my brain off is a good choice of words. I'd love to switch mine off periodically if I could!

|Down and Out| Honestly a real reality check of a song. You reach an age where you look around you and realise that everyone around you has grown up. Friends are getting married and look so mature, you lose people and now all of a sudden everything is different. Depending on your path you may end up deep in studying which may possibly isolate you a great deal ; life reaches a unbearable mundanity. This song is a good representation of that for me. Im not saying it happens to everyone or even happens to most but it can happen. I've been down a route of complete bottom of the barrel, barely scraping through levels. Very relatable, Amazing lyrics and that instrumental comp is chefs kiss.

 |Changes| This song relates back to Down and Out to me and to what I said about everyone growing up but you yourself not feeling like that, feeling frozen in time like the song states, clutching to the past not ever being sure of tomorrow, never being certain if you're ready for the inevitable changes that is life. You can create a very grim picture of the future for yourself. When I was in my mid teens I was plagued with the thought of the future. Everyone even then seemed like they had it all figured out but me? I hadn't clue. It ate at me like nothing else so I empathise with the song very strongly.

|Pretenders| To me this is a song about "Fake" people or perhaps just egoists that only keep people around for clout and don't actually take the time to get to know you. Which again very VERY relatable. I think we've all dealt with pick mes that want all the attention and will go to lengths to secure that ; which is where "Paint me in your mental image - Pick out the colors you like I don't need to be forgiven, I'll go down without a fight" relates. You can see right through them and so why would you care what they think?

To conclude. I loved this album, some old faces and some welcomed new faces. Even if you're unsure about where you are today, you should be so proud of yourself that you've come this far and still continue to persevere despite all that may seem against you. Your music is amazing and of high quality with passion and thought behind it. The way you interact with your community is endearing and you seem genuinely appreciative of your fans feedback. You're an admirable producer and I hope you continue to stick around as long as you find joy in producing. You're already someone to us ๐Ÿ’œ Thank you for sharing once again. Have a lovely day!

@axolotllover4848

I like all of them but I have to say โ€œChangesโ€ takes the cake for me. Being through the most stressful parts of life and also being scared of what the future holds, I canโ€™t help but find this so relatable. Not to mention the song itself is beautiful, and I find pairing it with other things going on very easy.

@lullyourselftobed5877

Never For Me has this space vibe that feels super floaty; perfect for walks!!
Fishbowl Philosophy's chorus talks about how, yes it's fine for both people to coexist, but the singer isn't ready for that relationship because they think isolation is less painful than harmful company. when you connect this message to other parts of the album (like try again) you get a different view on the songs. maybe solaria in try again is fighting miku online bc it's easier than being nice and potentially gaining a friendship that might go sideways
Drag Me Down is kinda nostalgic but the 'glitches' in the audio freak me out each time ๐Ÿ˜… i like how human it makes miku tho :D
And im hooked on Switch My Brain Off <33 im a huge sucker for face-paced song (ironically, it's probably bc of my bad attention span xDD) i like how the singer's inability to focus isn't because they can't think but instead bc they can't stop thinking
Down And Out is literally my fears about the future, but it's hella catchy so {+10 points} xD
Changes is being anxious about the future, and as the end of summer makes way for school i definitely relevant
i was so suprised when i heard your voice in Pretenders!! the whole actor metaphor (or symbolism?) is absolutely delicious XD<3333 the note change in "debut" at 25:06 , "know" at 25:16 , and the whole fuckin line at 26:13 scratches an itch so well !! your voice is just so damn satisfying to listen to ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•
