Hey everyone, I hope this video was helpful in getting you started on your journey to applying for the JET Program! I know it took me so long to get a wrap on everything I had to get done for applying! If you have any questions feel free to leave them in the comments, and if you want to plan a trip to Japan instead of move there check out my Planning your trip to Japan step by step video. It's got some excellent information for planning any trip to Japan!

Hey DQ! This video helped answer a lot of the questions I had about the JET program, and I'm looking forward to your follow-up videos. You mentioned that cultural differences could be a barrier. Could you elaborate on some specific culture shocks to expect?

@Michi111996

How do they let you know if you got an interview, is it by phone or email?

Hi, I've been interested in working in Japan as an English teacher for years, and I'm currently at Queen's University (Canada) working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Arts with a major in English. My plan has been to work with a program like JET for a few years and then become a kindergarten teacher. You said that you need to be mentally and physically healthy, which I am, however I'm autistic (with ADHD and OCD). This does not impact my ability to work or be social. Would this make me ineligible? There are a lot of stereotypes around autism that would make me sound like a bad candidate, and them just knowing i'm disabled could make them turn me away. If that is the case, is there any way to get around telling them about my disorders?

Hey, I have a 3 yes old daughter, is it possible to take her with me if I'm considering this program?
