I have been studying European and middle eastern history all my life I am excited to finally learn some asian history
Something to add: Not all emperors have temple names. Before Tang, temple names were reserved as an honor and were only given to extraordinary emperors. For instance, out of 15 emperors of West Han dynasty, only 4 of them were given the honor to have a temple name. That’s part of the reason why modern day literatures usually refer to them using Posthumous names, rather than temple names.
3:04 It's fascinating considering that Japan to this day still uses Era Name for chronological indication. As this comment is written in 令和7年/ Reiwa 7 year.
I am obsessed with these videos
This channel combines informative aspects with aesthetics in a brilliant way. The music, animations and pacing. It relaxes me greatly. ❤
5:35 Nice reading ability, I'm impressed!
I’ve been watching your videos recently falling asleep (it calms me down and relaxes me not that it’s boring), and I was wondering when will be the next update. And here we go!🎉😅
Literally been waiting on this explanation thank you!
The fact that this video only has 823 views since it was posted 4 hours ago is absolutely criminal

Thank your this great video, particularly because i was always confused among temple names and posthumous names. I'm always happy to watch your videos
Thank you! I seem to remember asking about this in the comments of prior videos, so it kind of feels like you made this one for me. I deeply appreciate it. ❤
Love your videos! Gotta get that dose of soft cultural power! :D after this, I'm going back to my binge of Three Kingdoms 2010! hahahaha
Thank you for teaching us.
Thank you for the informative video. I am curious about the meaning of that very long posthumous name.
