i always thought this was a replica of early 2000’s phone keyboards (since you can tap multiple times on the ‘a’ kana to get the other variants), and the romaji keyboard was supposed to be like horizontal phones/computer keyboards

How are you meant to do kanji, what I do is I use the drawing keyboard to draw out so I can use kanji                     like 笑　and  木　or if you don’t know the symbols use romaji keyboard

... Yes I got the Japanese Keyboard just for the emojis ⊂⁠(⁠◉⁠‿⁠◉⁠)⁠つ

And I do not have a idea of any hidden meanings of them and use them like my mum uses normal emojis
