What I love about dungeon meshi is the greatly scientific approach it has when talking about the fantasy creatures

@HombreDeAgua9

Between this and Frieren, the fantasy anime genre is eating good. I never knew I needed a show like these, but I'm glad they came out around the same time

@addaku

Dungeon meshi is a story that gets better and better, and the ending is perfect.

@cyberspacecat

Dungeon Meshi is fantastic, I didn't feel that delay in its appeal because I wasn't necessarily looking for a grand story, it was just fun to hang out with the quirky characters, and then boom it grips you. Looking forward to this running series, I'm interested to hear what you have to say about it.

@PyPylia

Something very minor but important to mention is afaik the "curse of immortality" is only in that one specific dungeon, which is one of the reasons it's so special.

@pattonramming1988

Dungeon Meshi has everything needed for a great show
1. Compelling and interesting characters
2. Great worldbuilding that supports the story in meaningful ways
3. Character progression where the characters not only gain audience appeal but appreciation for their party members and more skills

@Matthew_Murray

Dungeon Meshi is such an interesting anime in that the show has such a strong sense of logic to it despite being mostly a comedy about eating monsters. The focus on how everything interacts as an ecosystem is something I have never seen in a fantasy anime, most of the time fantasy monsters exist separate from the actual world.

@Seranov

Dungeon Meshi has the most all-encompassing world building I've ever seen. Literally everything is a Chekov's Gun and it all wraps back around about how important food and family are. It's easily one of my favorite manga ever, and the anime has been peak so far.

I am 100% prepared for Maomao shenaniganry, too.

@dmgurei

Pey! Just wanted to thank you for the quick shoutout in your video!

I was wondering why my videos were suddenly getting such a surge of views again over the past few days, and some commenters let me know about this video! Just want to say, as a tiny channel in a similar "fantasy anime analysis" sphere, it really means a lot to me. 🖤✨

@AnnohaSF

New running series? Hell yeah.

@dinoxdrino5175

Dungeon Meshi rly makes you invested more and more with each episode/chapter. It was so good for me that it made me read a manga that i realy enjoyed. I will not spoil anything but the ending in my opinion was perfect for that kind of story and i feel satisfied with it.

@PyroDraco91

For me personally, Frieren and Delicious in Dungeon are my absolute favorite anime of the past decade. They’re special. They take a very different narrative path, which makes them stand out. They’re not your typical Isekai or Shonen anime. They have a clear purpose and occupy a unique niche that might seem odd to some, but to me, it feels deeply heartwarming and like “home.”

I'm someone who plays a lot of fantasy games, including tabletop roleplaying games, and both of these anime gave me a fresh, profound perspective on things I had long considered “normal” or even cliché.

Sure, we all know that elves live for a very long time—but Frieren showed this in such a unique way. The idea that elves aren't necessarily detached or cold, but rather just need more time to understand and process emotions, was incredibly powerful.

Delicious in Dungeon takes the classic “adventurers delve into a dungeon” trope and puts such a creative and detailed spin on it. And while yes, the main characters are fantastic, can we please take a moment to appreciate the monster design? Many of the creatures are based on familiar fantasy monsters, but they’re reimagined with such creativity and biological logic that they actually feel like part of a real, functioning ecosystem. It’s brilliant.

It's honestly wild that these two anime were released almost simultaneously—both are absolute standouts in a sea of anime I’ve consumed over the years. They’re beautiful, deeply thoughtful, and in my opinion, still highly underrated.

@whats1555

"Exploring dungeon meshi" it's exactly what I wanted. How haven't you made it earlier. I'm very excited

@AtomicGuava39

This, Frieren and Apothecary Diaries S1 were all airing at the same time. What a wonderful run for anime.

@apersonnamedaj2578

This is the first time I'm happy that I seen a sponsor in a video. Either I forgot if Pey had been sponsored before, but nice to see that his work is being paid off. Congrats Pey 🎉

@Terran123rd

What I love about both DiD and Frieren is that they take the Standard Fantasy Setting and tell very nonstandard stories in it. It's like finding an open window in a dank and stale auditorium.

@gr7468

I would love your take on "A silent voice" I love how the characters were written and it emotionally hit me like a truck

@kinexkid

I bet you could make a whole episode analyzing the mental health and internal struggles of the characters from this show. Each character is flawed beautifully
