@Cresendex

I grew up on the Xbox edition of Minecraft and I was actually thinking of adding a section in my peaceful mode video about that old version since it was just generally more eerie for some reason, but I settled for older versions of Java, you put into words something I might have actually included in that video and you did it really well, I applaud you.

@ZaneTheMusicalWander

9:20 this was a feature, if you slept in an area that wasn't well lit, monsters would spawn and attack you

@ThatGuyVerge

I just remembered bedrock fog that shit scared the hell outta me when I was a little kid. I felt like something was gonna grab me from in the game and kill me IRL.

@Alleriian

I haven’t seen anyone else mention this here, but I distinctly remember when entering the seed “Herobrine” on the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft you spawned directly outside of a stronghold. When I discovered this seed it was well after I stopped believing in Herobrine, but I swear this was the only time I ever felt genuinely unsettled while playing Minecraft. I’m honestly surprised that this wasn’t mentioned in this video or your previous video.

@diamondclawsdies

Peaceful can be creepy because, like, you know you're supposed to be 100% alone aside from peaceful mobs. But that voice in the back of your head is like "what if you arent? What if theres something in there that somehow is still here after peaceful mode was flipped on?" And this is furthered by the cave noises. When i was a kid I'd put on peaceful and then as soon as a cave noise played I'd be horrified and turn off the console.

Man, I watched the Casey’s Cave videos back in the day. I'm sad to hear their lost media now. I knew the channel that held the videos were linked to Scaretheater. But wasn't expecting he changed it to his second channel now. May the Casey’s Cave videos show backup.

@cheeselovingwoman

something unsettling i encountered in xbox 360 edition was back in 2013 when i was playing with my brother. this was shortly after we first bought the game, so we were still new to it, and we were just exploring caves in creative mode.

eventually we find this random room made of cobblestone, similar to a dungeon but smaller and with no mossy cobblestone, spawner, or chests. it had an oak door and there was nothing but a slime inside. neither of us built it.

i didn’t think anything of it at the time, but as i got more experienced i never saw that kind of structure again. it sort of gives the same feeling you talk about with regards to the tutorial worlds and how they feel abandoned.

@UmbralMachine

I got into Minecraft very recently, a couple years ago, and im a full grown adult. Never have i felt so creeped out in a game to the point i had to step away and come back later when my mind was in a better space. Even in the day of the game, just the overbearing feeling of isolation and purgatory can be overwhelming. And i do like horror games. But this is more of an existential dread sensation.

@Zazainhaler

Your voice is so comfy dawg

@MintTea2005

Your interpretation of Caseys Cave makes sense to me, non blocky characters in Minecraft are so strange and unsettling. I say this with certainty because at one point there were non blocky characters in Minecraft and there’s dev footage of other non Minecraft styled creatures in Minecraft and it’s all very strange.😊

@GekJangen

Sometimes I have to take a break because mining in peaceful is SO uncanny

@miningironyt

A little scary encounter I had was this one time my brother and I were playing split screen on the PS3. I had made a FNAF 4 minigame in a flat world and we were playing. I had it on peaceful mode while it was raining, and out of nowhere we heard an enderman take damage or teleport which scared us. Never happened again

@overlordchemm3705

scariest thing about 360 Minecraft was the old crafting UI before they just gave you a cursor and let you move it around to grab and place things in the crafting table

jokes aside I don't really remember being all that freaked out by old Minecraft but it was definitely "desolate" in a way, everyone had those superflat worlds where you'd just start blowing shit up with TNT or dumping lava on village houses and stuff. I can vividly recall several moments over the years of doing that for a while, then looking back at all the destruction when I got bored and that desolate feeling would hit again, even when I was playing with friends there was still that weird twinge of a feeling that's kinda hard to describe. other people have probably felt this too I just can't put a name to it.

@Exotic89292

Love these videos. I grew up playing the 360 version and its still my favorite to this day.

@kipskip_546

I like your voice, adds to the eerie feeling of the video

@quandeldingle1714

One of the few things i remember from Minecraft was how scared i was to play peaceful rather that been scared to play normal reason being the cross like thing I found on my world

@ellisthehillbillyman8881

Seeing the thumbnail and name of this video originally made me scroll past it, thinking it was one of those misleading bargain bin arg videos, but I was delighted to be wrong. Good video.

@statiic_hydra8678

Speaking of old YouTube channels, this might also be lost media, but I remember watching a YouTube channel many years ago where they had kinda like Herobrine haunting stories. The one I remember best in my mind is one about a guy who comes to a town looking for work and gets a job as miner. I don’t remember much past the beginning where he goes to this building and basically applies to get the job. I also can’t remember if they used villagers for other characters or players, but whichever it was I mainly remember the guy giving the job person some emeralds then going over to a chest at the side of the building and grabbing a gold helmet and iron pickaxe.

@CasCalloway1610

I have a peaceful mode forever world in my 360. I love how this version gives you a "bite size" world so it is quite finite. I already finished all the clay in my world so I had to dupe it. I prefer peaceful mode since I'm generally afraid of Minecraft and finding ways around things you need to get to progress without agressive mobs is fun! Like, you can get bones from fish, rotten flesh from loot chests and a bunch of stuff from villagers
I didn't even had to go mining to get almost full diamond. I went to find enough to get a shovel, pants and boots, but outside of that, I don't really need other materials. I love building houses for my villagers and going to the nether to make a bigger platform for wither skeletons to spawn. I only put it on easy mode to get blaze rods and wither heads, then I return to peaceful so my villagers are safe. I have turtles, dogs, bunnies, cats, parrots and golems don't attack the player on peaceful! It's amazing ♡

@thehelper9721

I played the ps3 version all the way until it stopped being supported, and I felt the very same things
