Absolutely brilliant! My Fitbit Charge 1 band has been coming part for a few weeks and finally broke all the way just like yours did. It was driving me crazy to think of spending $150 to buy a new Fitbit to replace a device that works perfectly. I just needed to find a way to strap it to my wrist -- your $2 hack is awesome and saved me a bunch of money.... Thank you!
This is awesome! I have 3 Fitbit Charges laying around. I got tired of going through the whole process because the band kept peeling off so I quit telling them about it 😑😡 This gives me hope that I'll get my Fitbit back, lol. I'm glad I found this! Thanks for sharing 😄
I like this "This helps me justify to my wife spending time on these videos. Thank you! :)" Thanks for sharing the video.
You, Sir, are a genius! Thank you thank you thank you!
Yes!!! Thank you so much for this, I'm in the same situation and you have just saved me a lot of money and time. Appreciate it!
This worked great! I'd recommend the sleeve, as I was not confident the generic Vivofit band alone would hold the Fitbit, and the different manufacturers on eBay may not have the exact same product dimensions. One person I met said my Fitbit looked really cool. I question his taste, but I had not told him it was a repair job. Nevertheless, thanks for the video, Gabe!
It worked perfectly! I actually like my new band better than the original. Thank you!
great advice thanks
This worked great
thank you
best solution is not to buy fitbit again
I need to change the band on my fitbit charge so I will do this, thank you, but I was wondering if there was a buckle fastener I could use instead. I can't see any vivofit buckle fastners. Thank you
Does the sleeve interfere with heart rate sensor?
Hey Gabe. I had the same problem with my Fitbit Charge HR and I made a shell to go around the Fitbit. You can then attach any watch strap you like to the shell. You can check it out here https://goo.gl/9JC5dI (it comes in many colors). I bought a few of these "broken" Fitbits of craigslist for $20 a pop and put them in these shells and now everyone in my family has a Fitbit.
Can you share the link to the sleeves you used
My wristband on my Fitbit charge is coming apart but my Fitbit is way out of warranty and I need a new replacement band.
Looks like the review for the Garmin Vivofit band says the clasp doesn't fit snugly. Is this your experience too? Does it fasten OK?
Do you think you have to have the sleeve too, or will it stay on if it is just the vivo fit band?
My band is just coming apart a little on the side do you think the sleeve will help I saw them on eBay
