I always found the humour in the Cronenberg disaster in that Rick can go to another dimension and ask for the cure but simply finds it easier to just move in. This crosses with the effort he put in to trying to cure it in the first place. I can't decide if by that scene he really is apathetic, lazy or Borderline.

Hey Blooms great video as always. I would like to see your take on Monty python's flying circus. I read somewhere that Terry Gilliam's animations in Monty python inspired South Park's animation style and the comedy has aged remarkably well considering that the show is about 50 years old.

There was a episode with what I believe this Jellybean who was a king. Well there was scene between Morty and King Jellybean in a bathroom. Still freaked out till this day.

At 9.33 NOPE! In the end of the episode you see the love interest reaching out as Morty enters the vat of acid remembering the sacrifice he made for her. Beautiful and tragic.

I’m kinda late but dude I got so excited when I saw you uploaded this ! RNM is one of my favourite cartoons and I really enjoy your takes on South Park, so I was chuffed to hear your thoughts on another classic. I never really noticed so much of the humour was because of cosmic horror but yeah hey you’re right and it’s always so satisfying to hear your analysis, it’s really clean and laid out neatly. I think it’s a shame your other videos don’t get as much attention as your South Park vids, here’s to hoping you’ll get even recognition ! Great vid as always and stay swell :)

I saw a message that Rick knows he is the subject of somebody else's entertainment and that if he fails to perform or impress he knows his existence gets cancelled. He acknowledges this occasionally when he breaks the fourth wall. This is extremely depressing and he osculates between wanting to be more entertaining and prolong his existence, and saying WTF and give up on existence. Another paradox is that the characters don't age in the main time line, as in Morty always reverts back to his original age. Yet we have many examples that the show proceeds with many episodes and adventures that we never see. Just occasionally the cartoon masters look in on what they are up to and creates a fresh episode. It kind of implies that of all the seasons we have seen, we are still only seeing glimpses of their actual existence. As though someone is playing with the fast-foreward skip button on their lives.
