It’s been a little while, but I’m finally settled back in Utah and I'm so happy to be back with this video I’ve been dreaming about for months. My rom-com apartment makeover! ✨ I set out to turn the space into something that feels like Miss Honey moved into Kathleen Kelly’s apartment. There are bookshelves, lots of beadboard, Saturday morning thrift adventures, complete with a whimsical breakfast nook and the start of a very beloved gallery wall. Plus, there's a surprise blooper reel at the end for your enjoyment 😄 I hope it inspires you to make your home feel like yours, no matter where you are or what season of life you're in. I used Epidemic Sound to help with the voiceover in this video. I wrote the script and recorded my own voice into their software, which then transformed it using my tone, speed and the way I spoke, into a different accent and gender.

This style of narration was part of a trend I’d seen floating around social media this spring, and I thought it would be a fun way to bring the story to life (I was inspired by George of The Jungle and Ella Enchanted ✨ )

I completely understand that AI tools can stir up a lot of feelings, especially right now, and I truly appreciate the conversations. I didn’t expect this creative choice to resonate so strongly, but I understand the concerns, and I’m listening.

This was a creative experiment, and in the future I’ll keep exploring what feels right for each project. Whether that means using new tools, working with a voice actor (if the right fit and budget align), or something else entirely.

P.S. You may have noticed a bit of a different style in this video… I couldn’t resist joining in on the narrator trend that’s been making the rounds. I’ve always dreamed of making a video with that whimsical, fairytale-style narration— kind of like what you'd experience in Ella Enchanted or George of the Jungle. This rom-com hone makeover felt like the perfect theme for the trend 🥰
