SEISHUN SUPREMACY IS BACK
Recently I watched some of the "Road to Guitar Hero" series, in particular the episode where Ritsuo Mitsui, one of the main players who recorded the bocchi the rock album songs, played through the lead of Seishun complex. And DAYUM I didn't do this song justice last time!
There are so many small expressions in the playing, subtle tremelo's and stuff that I didn't notice when I covered this song last time, so I decided that I wanted to dive a bit into those things and see if I can incorporate it into my own playing as well. It's amazing how much extra it adds to the notes coming out. I'm honestly not very content with this take, particularly some more difficult parts, and sometimes the timing is a bit off as well. I've figured out that my picking hand is probably the biggest roadblock right now, as at times it feels a bit "unnatural" and not smooth transitioning through strings. If y'all have some tips or advice, I'd be glad to hear them :)
I also maybe want to dip my toes into the full song this time, including the solo which is pretty hard, but I've been wanting to be able to play those fast licks for a while now so maybe this is the perfect opportunity to challenge myself a bit xd.
So yeah, I've got some more concrete things to work to this time which is really nice, I feel like in general I have been able to improve and besides of the picking hand thing, I don't feel like I have to keep that much attention to technique anymore. Because of that I've gotten more into the dynamics and expressions of the notes I play, it's like a new chapter of guitar opened up xD
So yeah, I'll be working on this I think for now. That said tho I've got another project I'm working on at the moment (wink wink) and I'm going away on holiday in a week, so there ain't that much room for playing the following few weeks, but when I come back I'll be stronger than ever 💪
