Why are Drug Take Back Events Important?

Drug Take Back events provide an opportunity to safely dispose of unused, unwanted, or expired medications so that they don't pollute the environment or fall into someone else's hands. Properly disposing of prescription medications can help prevent drug abuse, misuse, and overdose.

If you can't attend a Drug Take Back event and are in need of disposal resources, there are options available year-round on UCF campus. You can use the drug take-back boxes located in the Student Union or the UCF Pharmacy, or you can request a Deterra package from UCF Student Health Services.
